The members of the David Dhoop Band have played together in various groups for years, but their journey now is as a new band forging a deep connection with each other and their fans. Happiest in the spotlight of their live shows, the group’s musicians aim for an inspired groove that captivates and moves the audience. Even though it rocks, playing live music - and listening to it - is more like worship than recreation. The music is sacred and the experience memorable for both the band and the audience.

The David Dhoop Band is a bright, rising star in the Asheville music scene. Join the journey now - listen and learn more here, grab a CD, and catch a live show - be sure you don't miss a thing.

"From the first notes, David Dhoop's 5-track EP imparts a Lennon-esque quality, in the best sense. "Some people's love is the hurtin' kind," he sings in the catchy refrain of the opening track. The pop savvy is more Julian than John; the crispy guitars and crackling organs are almost futuristic and the metallic ring of horns takes the song to a whole new level. This is not straightforward rock: Indeed, Dhoop's very style suggests that he's mastered both the writing and the playing parts of music and is now out to construct songs that hang in the balance between familiar and wildly experimental."  Alli Marshall, Mountain Xpress
